RESIDENTIAL AREA NO. 1
WEST END

(1) Country Club Place
A condominium development, all 54 units are alike in features, location within the development being the only price variable. Units start at about $145,000 and the upper range, having a river view, are about $230,000.

(2) Chipman Road
A recent infill area, most are of two-storey executive class of housing. Lots vary in size and prices vary from $65,000 to $110,000 for lots with a good river view. House prices vary from $185,000 to $345,000.

(3) Centre Street Area
Homes in this area were built between 30 and 55 years of age, although there have been a few built as infilling. Most homes are of bungalow style, with some being two storey homes. Prices range from $60,000 to $190,000 and lots vary greatly in size as many homes are still on septic systems.

(4) Westview Area
A new infill area, most homes are less than 12 years old. All homes in this area are one and two storey single family units, and many in-ground pools. Most have 2 baths , dining rooms and garages. Lots are generally 60 X 100 feet in size. Side splits and bungalows with garage range from $130,000 to $180,000. Two storey homes range from $160,000 to $240,000. There are also a few semi-detatched homes in the $95,000 price range.

(5) Brock Woods Subdivision
The newest residential development area in the city is located between the existing Westview Ridge and Centre Street housing areas. It is heavily treed setting located on the "back nine" of the Country Club and will ultimately provide over 220 lots of various sizes which will allow for a wide range of house styles. Servicing of Phase 1 commenced in April 1990 and prices range from $160,000 to $270,000, with a premium being asked for lots in cul-de-sacs. Servicing of Phase 2A commenced in the summer of 1994.

(6) Pearl West
The newest residential development is located at the end of Pearl St. W. in a private cul-de-sac. 22 new homes featuring single family dwellings on oversized lots starting at $139,900 and lifestyle attached garden homes with bungalows from $136,900. Pearl West is within walking distance to the Country Club, historic downtown and St. Lawrence Park on the river.

(7) Oak Street Area
All homes in this area were built 25 to 30 years ago on lots that are generally 50 X 100 feet in size. Most are bungalow style with some two storey houses, and prices range from $90,000 to $120,000.

(8) Butler's Creek
New freehold townhomes on Church St. W. Four unique styles to choose from, 70% bungalows, grass cutting & snow removal provided for $55/mth. Geared to meet the needs of retirees and empty nesters that want to downsize not down grade. Priced from $115,000 to $150,000.

(9) The Pines
An executive infill area, most homes are less than 8 years old. Because of the slope and rock base, all homes in this development have been specifically designed to suit the terrain. Lots vary in size but are generally over 70 feet wide and housing prices range from $225,000 to $385,000.

(10) Riverfront - Hartley Street Area
Most homes in this area are between 20 and 30 years of age, although there are many older homes 50 - 100 years of age and a number of new infilled homes. This area is comprised almost exclusively of one and two storey single unit houses. House prices vary from $100,000 to $600,000.

(11) Jessie Street Area
An older area, most homes are on the river or have a river view. The majority of homes are between 25 and 55 years of age, although there has been recent infilling throughout the area. Lots vary in size and housing prices range from $75,000 to $450,000.

(12) Abbott Street Area
Housing stock is between 35 and 100 years of age, although there have been a number of new properties built on vacant lots throughout the area. Most housing types are represented in this area, the majority being single family duplexes and small apartment units. Lot sizes vary but are generally 40 X 100 feet.

DOWNTOWN

In this area there is a wide variety of housing types and prices. There is also a large range of rental accommodation in this section of the city, as well as a number of renewal and redevelopment areas.

Apartments and Condos

A wide variety of rental accommodation is available throughout the City of Brockville. New rental units are being constructed on a regular basis to meet the growing demand for this type of housing. The widest variety of rental housing can be found in the older section of the city. In this area there are older homes containing rental units, small apartment buildings of six or less units and several large apartment complexes. Several luxury apartment buildings are situated along the waterfront area of the city, offering highly desirable locations and amenities.

Condominium accommodation is available in many different locations.

The Executive Condominium is an apartment style building located on the downtown waterfront with prices ranging from $140,000 to $250,000 per unit.

The newest condominium, The Boardwalk, is located on Tunnel Bay overlooking Blockhouse Island and the St. Lawrence River. These executive style units range in price from $174,000 to $243,000.

The Harbourview is also located on the waterfront. Prices in this establishment range from $90,000 to $150,000.

EAST END

(1) James Street East Area
This area contains a mixture of housing types. Most homes are between 25 and 100 years of age, with several new infill areas throughout the district. Housing prices range from $70,000 to $170,000.

(2)Riverfront - King Street East Area
The most prestigious residential area, most homes are large and between 50 and 150 years old. There is some newer development (15 - 30 years old) mostly on privately subdivided estate property. Lots vary in size and housing prices range from $200,000 to $l,000,000. The Victorian flavour is evident in this area.

(3) First Avenue South Area
This area contains a wide variety of housing types and styles. Most homes are between 10 and 25 years of age, although there are both older and more recent developments in the area. Many homes are large single family units and range in price from $90,000 to $150,000. In the northern part of the area is a new development consisting of link housing. Prices for these homes range from $70,000 to $90,000. A newer development of 29 homes, priced between $160,000 and $210,000, has been completed in the last 2 to 3 years
