RESIDENTIAL AREA NO. 2
SCHOFIELD HILL AREA

This area is an older area of the City with most houses being built 25 to 50 years ago. Many are two storey single unit dwellings and there are a number of one and a half storey postwar houses in the area. Some infilling of newer housing has occurred in recent years. House lots vary in size and housing prices generally range from $65,000 to $105,000. There are a number of semi-detached dwellings in the Perth Street area. These dwellings are approximately 15 years old and are priced around $86,000.

CENTRAL CITY WEST

This area contains a variety of housing types ranging from older single unit dwellings in the southern section to newer (12 - 25 years of age) dwellings in the northern developments. Most homes are one and two storey units, semi-detached dwellings, and some row housing. There are also several large and small apartment buildings and complexes in this area. Lots vary in size from one area to another, as do prices, which generally range from an average of $95,000 to $125,000 for a bungalow with garage, up to $120,000 to $155,000 for a large two storey home. There are very few vacant building lots in the area.

CENTRAL CITY EAST

(1) Reynolds Drive West Area
Most housing in this area was constructed 20 to 30 years ago, although there is a large area of smaller postwar housing. Most lots in this area are 60 X 100 feet and housing prices vary from $75,000 to $105,000. There are very few vacant housing lots in this neighborhood, the predominant types being single family, duplex, quadruplex, row and small apartment dwellings.

(2) Reynolds Drive East Area
A fully developed area, most homes range from 15 to 25 years of age. The predominant housing types in this area are bungalows, sidesplits and large two storey dwellings. Lots in this area are generally large, 65 X 100, and house prices vary from $95,000 to $125,000 for bungalows from $140,000 to $175,000 for two storey homes with garages, family rooms, separate dining rooms and two baths.
